I love this drink for it’s classy simplicity. If your a Mad Men fan like I am then you’ll understand how timeless this cocktail is. Gimlet, if you’re wondering, is what they use to call cocktails back then and I think I’d like to bring that term back. Everything comes around again in time and I love the good old days of the simple life with simple joys and this drink does that for me.
So if your looking for something new to try and your not sure if you’re a gin fan then I highly suggest starting with this gimlet. Ya never know you might just end up being a super fan like me.

To make The Betty Draper Gimlet:
-
- 2 oz of Gin
- 1 oz of Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 oz of Simple Syrup
- Ice
- Slices of Lime
Make simple syrup in advanced with equal parts water and sugar into a small pot. I usually do 1 cup of each and store any extra in the fridge. Cook water and sugar on the stove just until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let completely cool.
Once simple syrup is cooled we can start making our gimlet.
Combine the gin, lime juice, ice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into glass. Garnish with a slice of lime.
Feel free to double the ingredients to make 2 drinks per shaker.
